The reverse of the coin depicts the Taj Mahal with its iconic reflection in the water ponds. All in traditional dot art style.
The obverse side of the coin depicts the unique Coat of Arms with the same dot-art and the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” (the issuing country), “2024” (the year of issue), “DOT ART” (the name of the series) and “20 Dollars” (the face value).
Background information
The defining criterion for a dot painting is the technique used – that it is produced by repeated imprints of a paint covered brush, dotting stick or other implement onto the surface of the painting and that in doing so, there are recognizable ‘dot’ marks on the canvas. These dots together form an image giving it’s a specific look.
